"Zoom, Zoom, Zoom" - The word ‘walk’ isn’t in Milo’s vocabulary. He likes to get places quickly, and prefers to run wherever he can. It doesn’t matter if it’s to the local park or the couch, Milo will get there in record timing. As a greyhound, he feels it’s best to use his gift of speed at every opportunity he can!
Milo is best described as an 'excitable little kid'. He’s playful, energetic, and finds joy in the simple things in life. He would be best suited to an active family who will walk him regularly and play with him in the back yard, throwing toys so he can zoom around and show off his excellent sprinting skills.
Unfortunately, during a race Milo suffered an injury to his hock in March 2020. This still gives him some pain and will require ongoing management. Apart from this, Milo is a chirpy boy who is happiest around humans. He thinks he owns the house and will ‘bed surf’ throughout the day, ensuring no soft spot is left untouched. Although he loves his cuddles, he’s not overly needy and would be fine as an only dog.
Milo finds some dogs over-stimulating, so ongoing training will be required to help his manners on his walks.

Dogs are pack animals and Greyhounds, in particular, are very familiar with being surrounded by other dogs in their racing kennel environment. For this reason, when left alone without people or other dogs for company, they can be prone to separation anxiety which can manifest in destructive and/or noisy behaviour. Yes, they may "grow out" of it after a few weeks in their new home, but why put the dog through that stress to ultimately live all day alone, while everyone is at work? As a result we do not rehome dogs into households where they are left on their own for more than 4 hours per day, without either people or another dog for company.
Your home will require an initial “dog safe” Homecheck by Gumtree Greys. Payment of $350 for the placement is required at the time of the dog going into your home for the two week trial period. If you decide during the trial not to proceed with adopting the greyhound, your adoption fee will be reimbursed.
Outside of the trial period, the adoption fee will be relinquished to Gumtree Greys.
